Export Oracle Primavera Cloud Data to P6 XML or XER
Export one or more projects and their baselines or scenarios from Primavera Cloud to a single P6 XML or XER file. You must have the required global privilege to use the export functionality. The list of projects available for export depends on the workspace or project selected in the table.
Note: XER refers to Oracle Primavera Proprietary Exchange Format (XER). It is a proprietary file format used by the P6 EPPM application. Primavera Cloud supports baselines and scenarios exported as part of their current schedule or individual projects in XML format. Baselines and scenarios can only be exported from Primavera Cloud as individual projects in XER format.
To export project data to a P6 XML or XER file:
- In the object selector, select ﱆ Project, and then select View Projects List.
- In the table, select a workspace or project row.
- Select the Actions menu, and then select Export to P6.
- In the Export to P6 dialog box, in the Select Project field, select one or more projects.
- From the Export As drop-down list, select the file type of the file you are exporting - Compressed XML, XML, Compressed XER, or XER.
Notes:
- The Project ID and the Project Name columns are automatically populated for your selected projects.
- Baselines and scenarios are exported as individual projects if you export as an XER or a Compressed XER file. The Export Baseline or Scenario Only check box is read-only with this option.
- (For XER or Compressed XER) In the Export Version section, select 15.2+ for Primavera Cloud versions between 15.2 and 20.4, and 20.4+ for versions 20.4 and above.
- (Optional for XER) From the Locale drop-down list, select your preferred locale (language) if the locale setting in Primavera Cloud does not match with your browser language setting.
Selecting the appropriate locale encrypts and preserves the content from the XER file while exporting it.
- (Optional) Select the Scenario column to export scenarios along with the project.
- In the Select Scenario dialog box, from the Available column, select one or more scenarios.
- Select Add from Available to add the scenarios to the Selected section.
- (Optional) Select the Baseline column to export baselines along with the project.
- In the Select Baseline dialog box, from the Available column, select one or more baselines.
- Select Add from Available to add the baselines to the Selected section.
Notes:
- Primavera Cloud supports baselines and scenarios exported as part of their current schedule or individual projects in XML format. Baselines and scenarios can only be exported from Primavera Cloud as individual projects in XER format.
- You can export up to 20 baselines and scenarios per project. The Supplementary, Original, and Current baselines are selected by default.
- Project Baselines that are exported from the Projects page are exported with baseline categories included, if they have been assigned.
- Baselines that are exported directly from a Baselines page or from the Manage Baselines dialog box are exported as projects, so there is no baseline or baseline category included.
- (Optional) Select the check box in the Export Baseline or Scenario Only column if you want to export only the project baseline or scenario.
If the check box is left unchecked, the current project schedule and any selected baselines or scenarios are exported.
- Select Export to start the export process.
You will receive a system notification when the export process is complete.
- Select Download File in the notification to download the exported file. You can also download the file from the Inbox or Manage Services pages.
Note: The Download link for an exported file is available for up to 30 days after the export job is complete. The file will not be available beyond 30 days from the Download link.
Tips
- You can export multiple projects from the same workspace. When the export process completes, you can download the P6 XML or XER file that is generated. The file is named after the first project in the export list.
- You can export project data to an XML or XER file for an individual project by selecting the Context menu next to the project, and then selecting Export to P6.
