Configure the Resource Planning Page
Configure the resource planning page to view information that is important to you while building the portfolio resource plan.
To configure the resource planning page:
- In the object selector, select
Portfolio, and then select View Portfolios List. - Select a portfolio name.
- From the
Main Menu, select
Resources, and then select Resource Planning. - Select an in-progress scenario.
- In the Show list, display projects according to their state:
- All: All projects in the portfolio.
- Included: All projects with the Selected or Forced In state.
- Not included: All projects with the Unselected or Forced Out state.
- On the Layout
menu, select
Grid to display time-phased work units for the roles assigned to the projects in your portfolio.Select
Gantt to display a graphical representation of allocation and project dates across a timeline. - Select
Refresh to run the portfolio filter to ensure all projects are included in the scenario. Refresh the filter on each scenario if you have multiple scenarios. - To configure the table:
- Select
Settings and then select a view. Select Columns, Filtering, Grouping, Timescale, Spreadsheet Rows, and Formatting options, and then select Apply. See Configure View Settings for more information.Note For the duration of a portfolio resource plan, the Hours per Time Period setting in
Global Admin is used to convert the hourly demand for a role to its equivalent in work days. See Configure the Time Periods Settings for how to configure this setting.
- Select
- To view a specific date, in the Go to field, select a date.
- In the detail window, select a tab and then select
Settings to configure additional role availability information.- On the Chart Settings tab, displayed for Stacked Histogram, choose Allocation Cost, Demand Cost, or Committed Cost to view time-phased role costs in the Stacked Histogram. Choose Allocation, Demand, or Committed to view time-phased role availability in the Stacked Histogram. Use Group By to select a field by which to group the data in the histogram.
Tip
- Select Highlight Deficits to highlight allocation values in the table that exceed a role's availability for the time period. Select FTE to display role units in the full-time equivalent values of the timescale interval.
- Hover over bars in the Gantt view to view date information about each project.
- You can also change the timescale interval by right-clicking on the timescale in the table and selecting an option.
