Add a Sub-workflow Task to a Task Step

Sub-workflow tasks enable workflows to run as part of other workflows. A sub-workflow task can run synchronously or asynchronously. When a sub-workflow task runs synchronously, the host workflow waits for the sub-workflow to finish before proceeding to the next step. When a sub-workflow task runs asynchronously, the host workflow continues running while the sub-workflow runs.

To add a sub-workflow task to a task step:

1. In the object selector, select  Workspace, select View Workspaces List, and then select a workspace name.
2. From the  Main Menu, select  Workflows and Forms, and then select Workflow Design.
3. On the Workflow Design page, select a workflow design.
4. In the Workflow Design Editor, select a task step.
5. In the Step area, select  Add , and then select Sub-workflow Task.
6. In the Sub-workflow Task Details dialog box, enter a Name and Description for the task.
7. Select OK.
8. Select Save.

When you are done with the workflow design, you can specify other aspects of the sub-workflow task, such as which sub-workflow it uses, on the Workflow Configuration page.
