Understanding Change Types in the Schedule Comparison Activity Table
Change types serve as an additional indicator to display relevant variance data in the Activity table when two schedules are being compared in Compare Mode or will be merged into a new schedule version in Merge Mode. In Compare Mode, a Change Type column displays all activities in the two schedules with variance indicated by badges with corresponding labels and colors providing the reason behind their variance. In Merge Mode, the Change Type column displays the variance data similarly, but activities with no variances will not display at all.
The following badges and colors indicate change type:
- Add/Added: A green badge that displays when an activity exists in the Source/Merge From schedule, but it does not exist in the Comparison/Merge To schedule. It will be added by the Comparison schedule if they merge.
- Edit/Edited: A blue badge that displays when an activity exists in both the Source/Merge From schedule and in the Comparison/Merge To schedule, but it has at least one field value that is different or has since been edited.
- Delete/Deleted: A red badge that displays when an activity does not exist in the Source/Merge From schedule, but it exists in the Comparison/Merge To schedule. It will be deleted from the Comparison schedule if they merge.
Note: Change Type is a pinned column, along with Name and ID. This means that you can move it, but it cannot be hidden.
Tips
- Activities in the list can also be filtered by Change Type. In the Quick Filters list, select values on which to filter, and then select Apply. Apply multiple quick filters to further reduce how many activities are displayed. Clear a single filter to show more results. Select Clear to clear all filters.
- Change Type can be added as a grouping option. See page Settings to configure grouping options.
- Change Type information is included when you download the Activities List or export the Schedule Comparison page.
