Move a Workspace to a Different Workspace
Move a Workspace Video
You can move a workspace to a different workspace on the Workspaces page. The workspace being moved is the selected workspace, and the workspace it is moved to is the target workspace.
Moving a workspace to a different workspace can affect shared data. Some inherited shared data may have to be promoted to the common parent workspace, and some may be removed. For more information on moving a workspace, see Move Workspace Overview. For more information on data handling during a move workspace action, see Considerations When Moving a Workspace to a Different Workspace.
The move workspace action cannot be undone.
To move a workspace:
- In the object selector, select Workspace, and then select View Workspaces List.
- On the Workspaces page, locate the workspace you would like to move, which is the selected workspace.
- Select the Context menu, and select Move Workspace.
Note: The option to move a workspace is only available to users who have the Move Workspace permission assigned to them at both the selected and target workspaces.
- In the Move Workspace dialog box, select the target workspace from the list, or use the search.
Note: Users will only see the workspaces they have access to in the target workspace list. The target workspace list does not contain the selected workspace or its parent, children, or siblings where applicable.
- Select Move.
Tips
- While the workspace move is in progress, no actions may be performed on the workspace until the move is complete.
- When the selected workspace is successfully moved to the target workspace, or if the move workspace action fails, a Move Workspace Log is created. For more information, see Move Workspace Log.
