Define a Workspace Fund Allocation Rule
After you have created a workspace-level fund, you should define its allocation rules to make sure it is used on the right projects. For example, you may want to limit the projects where the fund can be used to projects with a certain Department value.
To define the workspace-level allocation rules for a fund:
- In the object selector, select Workspace, select View Workspaces List, and then select a workspace name.
- From the Main Menu, select Cost and Funds, and then select Fund Sources.
- Select the Funds tab.
- In the table, select a fund.
- In the Allocation Rules detail window, select Add Allocation Rules.
- In the Add Allocation Rules panel, select the filters that you want to apply.
Alternatively, if you want to create a new filter, find the location where you want to add the new filter, select the Context menu, and then select Add. In the New Filter area, add all new filter criteria.
- Select Save.
Note: Allocation rules only apply to projects, not to portfolios or child workspaces. When a fund that has allocation rules is allocated to a portfolio or a child workspace, its allocation rules will apply when it is further allocated to the projects within that portfolio or child workspace.
