Contracts and Commitments Overview

The Contracts and Commitments app is where you manage all of your formal agreements with the companies that own your projects and the subcontractors you work with to complete them.

For each of your projects, the Contracts and Commitments app lets you manage these types of agreements:

• Contracts: These are agreements between your company and project owners.
• Commitments: You can think of these as subcontracts. They are agreements with other companies that your company contracts to complete work. A commitment covers a particular subcontractor's work on a project. For example, a commitment may cover the plumbing work involved in an office building project that you are managing. Although the corresponding contract is between your company and the owning company, this particular commitment is between your company and the plumbing subcontractor.
• Change Orders: These are amendments that have been made to approved contracts and commitments.
• Payment Applications: These are formal payment requests for work completed during the execution of contracts and commitments.
